Slot coordination

Communication standards and formats

The standards and formats for communication used by the Slot Coordinators and/or Schedules Facilitators and the airlines are described in detail in Chapter 6 of the Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM), published by the IATA.

You can download a quick-start guide to using these formats from this link: Quick guide to using the IATA/SSIM format (pdf, 163.31 Kb).

These standards enable the Slot Coordinators and Schedules Facilitators and airlines to electronically exchange messages containing schedule information, so that they can be processed automatically or manually by each party.
